An excellent band program is one of the many activities on offer to students at Toongabbie Public School.   It caters for students from Year 3 to Year 6

We have a Concert Band and Training Band. both of which are supported by a tutorial system.  Tutorials provide students with lessons on the various instruments and cater for a range of competences.  The school has a wide range of instruments that can be hired for a small fee.

Both bands have numerous opportunities to perform throughout the year.  They participate in competitions, eisteddfods and concerts such as the Hills Festival and our own Evening of Performing Arts.

There are numerous advantages to being involved in the school band.

• It provides students with the opportunity to learn an instrument.
• It teaches children how to read as well as play music.
• It caters to for gifted and talented musicians as well as those students who just enjoy music.
• It broadens children’s experience of music.
• It exposes them to a range of teachers who are not only skilled but are also enthusiastic about their own music.
• It is a fantastic social activity that encourages interaction among student from Year 3 to Year 6.

Band fosters life long skills.
